Last night, I was home alone (ahhhh, quiet time) just listening to the pounding rain outside. We have a lot of storms in the Pacific Northwest, but I don’t think anyone had expected it to rain quite that hard. That was about the time I wrote last night’s post about my favorite rainy day books.
I will tell you over and over again, that our literacy development is the product of our experiences. We make deeper connections with the texts we read if we have some experience relating to the book. Last night, my daughter was looking through the nonfiction section of her library shelves.
