My daughter has several of the American Girl Doll craft books.  We spent some time doing projects out of Ginger The Cat’s craft  book over our snowy, unexpected, week off. 

I loved these cute little felt cupcakes!  Luckily, we had felt, beads, and fabric glue on hand.

My daughter and her friend read the directions, created templates, and followed the directions to complete their project.  They didn’t need much help and I was impressed with their ability to follow step by step directions.  These books are great for young readers because they offer very simple instructions and easy readability.  If you don’t have craft books at home for your kids, I’d encourage you to check some out from the public library.
