Happy 4th of July, friends!

We had our annual 4th of July picnic today.  My kids made this Jello salad with me.  I love cooking with my kids.  It’s a good life experience as well as a literacy experience.

We looked up the directions for how to make the Jello online.  The kids had to read and follow directions to prepare the Jello and assemble the flag.

 

 

I couldn’t resist adding a little math in there too!  Clearly, this flag needs to  be a multiplication problem.  I think the kids did a pretty good job.  I love sneaking in a little reading, direction following, and math too!  They were learning and they didn’t even know it.
