I was asked to review Kwik Stix Paint Sticks and jumped at the chance. I love art materials and this is a product I’ve never seen before. I don’t say yes to every offer I receive to review products because I don’t want to clutter my blog with reviews, but when something looks cool and like a product I would actually use in my day to day life, I will happily give it a try. My Kwik Stix were sent to me for review, but the opinions here are all my own.
I decided that my first project with my Kwik Stix would be a sign for our staff appreciation week at school
It’s hard to describe the texture of these paint sticks. They are Tempera paints, but it feels nothing like a paint. The tube works like a glue stick tube and simply rolls up. The paint goes on with the feel of oil pastel crayons. It’s very smooth and just glides right across the paper. The cool thing is that it dries in 90 seconds! That is just about as long as the attention span of my kindergarten students, so when I ask them to NOT TOUCH the paint while it dries, these are perfect!!
In the picture below, you can see that the texture looks like a wide crayon but you don’t have to push hard like you would with an oil pastel and you don’t have the dry time of an actual paint.
The Kwik Stixs that I have came in a 12 pack and sells for $14.72 on Amazon. They also come in 6 packs, classroom packs, neon colors, and metallic.
So, would I buy these? Absolutely!! They are so cool and I even had a couple of friends stop by my classroom just to show them how awesome the Kwik Stix are.
Happy painting!
